Our league is run by a volunteer Board, made up of a President, League VP’s and Treasurer. CBSA also has a volunteer Judiciary Committee made up of general membership. Due to the commitment, dedication and many hours spent in making sure our league runs smoothly, these volunteers have helped make Columbia Basin Soccer Association what it is today!

Board Member Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for insuring Association stays in compliance with WSSA, USASA requirements and any associated league contract requirements.

  • Maintain contact with WSASA and attend relevant WSASA board meetings as CBSA representative
  • Schedule annual board and league meetings
  • Contact person / mediator for issues involving VP’s and league members
  • Contact person for injuries and card reports from referees
  • Contact for inquiries about the association or desire to play
  • Pass new players on to the appropriate league VP’s
  • Attend ALL individual league meetings
  • Contract Negotiation for fields, fees, referees and other
  • League contact for discipline
  • Maintain records for cards, rosters, injuries and discipline
  • Oversight for judiciary committee
Facilitate the running of the individual leagues within the Columbia Basin Soccer Association according to the policies and by-laws of CBSA and WSASA.

  • Maintain up to date contact list of league teams (captains and backup: email, phone, address)
  • Provide list of teams and contacts to Treasurer and President annually or as needed
  • Inform treasurer of any field fees or deposit infractions (use, paint, etc.)
  • Inform treasurer of basic schedule (number of games & teams) at least 2 weeks prior to 1st game to figure seasonal team fees
  • Send schedules out to team captains and referee contact at least 1 week prior to first game.
  • Inform captains of team fees and required due date for fees to be in to treasurer
  • Secure facilities for each season (take care of insurance forms)
  • Verify schedule with any field maintenance personnel (painter, access, etc.) prior to each season
  • Verify team captains maintain a list of players with ID #’s and expiration dates
  • Address any league or referee issues with captains in a timely manner (include President in all communications)
  • Participate in at least 1 annual league meeting with captains to review financials and any concerns
Maintain Association financials and insure Association follows all State and Federal Financial requirements.

  • Make all deposits in a timely manner
  • Pay all bills
  • Track all leagues’ payments & receipts separately
  • Track individual team payments
  • Provide leagues with financial reports at end of each season
  • Determine each seasons’ team fees based on schedules and information provided by league VP’s
  • Provide Association financial report at annual board meeting
  • Insure Association fees are paid annually to WSSA
  • Insure all tax information is properly reported
  • Inform board of any teams with outstanding dues or financial issues
  • Participate in annual league meeting
Monitor card related activity and make necessary decisions regarding discipline

  • Oversight by League President (shall only vote if there is a tie)
  • Shall be made up of 2 female and 2 male representatives from general membership (minimum)
  • Shall meet/email when needed to discuss appeals, repeat offenders and other related issues
  • Shall decide course of action for discipline if not outlined in rules of competitions “card violations”
  • Positions are commitment for 1 year and can be resigned during annual meeting or verbal agreement
